Marketplaces are Sites created by Buyer Platforms. They are customer-facing environments designed to house participating Suppliers in a Supplier Directory. The Directory on its own is a valuable tool for quickly and easily collecting and categorizing an organization’s vendors, but Site Users in a Marketplace can also request, compare, and order Quotes from those participating Suppliers.
A Marketplace is a front-end environment, but it is managed in the Admin Console at the Site level. In a Buyer Platform, navigate to My Marketplaces at the Platform level, then click on the Marketplace you want to manage.
If the Buyer Platform contains a single Marketplace, many of the reporting and management modules at the Platform level will be functionally identical to those at the Site level.
A Marketplace, when administrated by a Buyer Admin, will have the following sidebar categories:
Supplier Platforms will also have administrative access to Marketplaces they participate in, but their controls will differ from those visible to Buyer Admins. Click here for more on Supplier Platforms and Connected Marketplaces.
