Royalty Collection and Remittance

Some AgoraCX marketplaces automatically calculate royalties for Suppliers (and some do not).

In many cases, when a User sets up the details of their project, they are asked a series of questions on what is known as the Licensing Authorization Form. Based on how the User answers these questions, royalty calculations may be automatically included in the Supplier’s pricing table.

As a Supplier, if you see a column designated for royalties in the pricing table, you will know that the proper royalty percentage is being automatically calculated for your offer. If you do not see a column for royalties, then either the usage of the item is not royalty bearing or that University account is not set up to automatically calculate for royalties. If you have any questions regarding the royalty setup for a particular University marketplace, please contact their respective licensing office.

Royalty Withholding and Remittance

Some University marketplaces are set up so that you, as the Supplier, won’t have to worry about remitting royalty payments on your orders processed through AgoraCX – AgoraCX does that for you!

In this case, at the bottom of the pricing table, you will see a line included where the royalty amount is deducted from the total amount sent to the Supplier. If you do not see the royalties deducted from the total, then the payment you receive from AgoraCX will include the royalties that you will then need to pay out. If you have any questions regarding the royalty setup for a particular University marketplace, please contact their respective licensing office.
